Dick grew up in Santa Barbara, raised his family in Ventura and loved the outdoors. In his early years he was an assistant golf professional at the Sandpiper Golf Course in Goleta, then the head pro at the Valley Club in Montecito. Through his life he spent many hours on golf courses all around Southern California which were surrounded by beautiful trees and landscapes. He appreciated their beauty and what they contributed as they renewed our oxygen.
